Executive Director, Accountability Counsel

Margaux leads the global non-profit organization, Accountability Counsel, which works to create a world where people and planet are prioritized over profits. Accountability Counsel’s team advocates alongside communities whose lives, livelihoods, and environment are under threat by powerful investors and amplifies their calls for justice. They have partnered with communities in Haiti, Mongolia, Indonesia, Kenya, Colombia, Myanmar, and elsewhere to stop, mitigate, and remediate harmful projects. 

Before advocating with communities seeking accountability, Margaux advised multinational companies on how to comply with environmental and anti-corruption regulations. She was an associate for the law firm Jones Day in Shanghai and the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer of Diebold Nixdorf in Singapore. Prior to that, she served as a federal law clerk for the Honorable Solomon Oliver, Jr. She earned her juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from the College of Wooster. She speaks Spanish and beginner-level Mandarin. 

Originally from Michigan, she has no plans to move back but loves visiting in the summer. Her home is now Washington, DC.
